Frequently Asked Questions

Who can benefit from counselling?

Anyone can benefit from counselling! Whether you're navigating through life, transiting through stages, experiencing distress, or seeking personal growth, therapy can benefit your life in various aspects.
It's proven that counselling can improve one's interpersonal relationships, understanding of self, regulation of emotions, motivation towards one's goals and much more!

Who can we help?

Our service is available to all from ages 7 and above. We have different counsellors with different niches to cater to your individual goals. Whether you're a student experiencing anxiety or just entering the working world, or a parent concerned about their child, we welcome everyone to give counselling a chance.

What can I expect from the 1st session?

The first session will be 90 minutes, with the focus being to get to know you better, understand your counselling goals and discuss client-counsellor service agreements alongside the intake form.

To summarise, the first session is like a consultation where the counsellor may ask you more questions to better understand your background. We understand that matters of the heart and sharing one's life requires trust and time, as such you do not have to feel obligated to share every intimate detail right away.

How often should I go for counselling?

How frequent your sessions are is entirely up to you. Your counsellor may suggest starting with weekly/biweekly sessions and gradually extending to monthly sessions. Most clients find a 3 week cycle most beneficial for them.

What are your charges?

For more information about our rates, please refer to Our Counsellor Pages or send us an enquiry. We will get back to you within 3-5 working days.

What if I can't make it for a session?

If you're unable to attend your scheduled session, please email counselling@anewchaptersg.com AND message your counsellor. Any session that is cancelled/rescheduled less than 48 hours prior would still be charged 100%. We understand that emergencies may happen, as such we may allow waivers on a case-by-case basis.
